CMC PRESENTS: Kirsty Lee Akers

CMC PRESENTS: Award-winning country music star, Kirsty Lee Akers, has announced a run of shows for 2020 as part of her Small Town Big Hearts tour, with a focus on regional areas affected by drought and bushfires.

Akers will kick off the tour at A Day in the Valley, Kangaroo Valley this weekend (29 Feb 2020), with South Australia in for a treat in July with 5 shows, including a ticketed fundraiser in Gawler to collect donations for Rural Aid’s Buy-A-Bale (tickets on sale next week).  Special guest for the SA shows is up and coming country music starlet and local, Abbie Ferris.

I’m so excited to be heading on tour this year, this is a special one. I’ve been lucky to have performed in some amazing places, and this tour is going to take me to the heart and soul of Australia. My main focus with this tour is bringing my music to the little country towns that often get forgotten about. I can’t do anything about the drought or bushfires, but I can try to lift the spirits of the people in these small communities. Even just for a few hours, I want to help those folks with big hearts doing it tough.

Which leads us to the tour name… Small Town Big Hearts Tour. The idea of the tour is that it will go to the smallest towns that may not get the love they deserve from touring artists. Many of the concerts are free to raise spirits, with the team volunteering their time. Facebook events allow patrons to reserve their spots at the venues.

Head to Kirsty Lee Akers’ official Facebook page to see the list of events.
