With the announcement that Miranda Lambert has locked in Sydney and Melbourne dates for her debut Australian tour, we’ve been going through her back catalogue and playing all the hits. However, we wanted to dig a little deeper and find out what Miranda has been playing through her own speakers.
We asked her to tell us which songs she thinks we NEED to listen to, like NOW. She’s definitely delivered, starting strong with Patty Griffin, and rolling through to Brothers Osborne (who happen to be her special guests on tour). Take a look (and listen) for yourself…
Patty Griffin – ‘Getting Ready’
I covered this song on my Crazy Ex-Girlfriend record, I liked it so much. Patty is amazing. The total package of a great writer and dynamic singer.
Waylon Jennings & Jessi Colter – ‘Storms Never Last’
I love this song. Waylon and Jessi did it as a duet and I used to play it live. Her voice is so beautiful and this song means a lot to me.
Loretta Lynn – ‘Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin”
Loretta blazed a trail and showed us how to pursue our dreams and speak our minds.
Maren Morris – ‘GIRL’
I love what Maren stands for. It’s been so much fun having a fellow Texas girl on my Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour. She sings her ass off every night.
Brothers Osborne – ‘Shoot Me Straight’
I LOVE Brothers Osborne. They’re making damn good country music.
Miranda brings her Wildcard Tour to Australia, along with special guests Brothers Osborne, in March 2020. For full tour dates and ticketing info, head to the CMC Presents page.
