THE WILKINSONS ON CMC
"The Wilkinsons" move into their new log home in Ontario Canada and try to resume a normal life, while also trying to pursue their careers. Although planned as a move to reunite the family, Steve (dad) is dealing with more pulling away than ever, since family members must leave home to maintain their individual careers. Can the Wilkinsons band survive now that the family is growing up?
THE FAMILY
Steve Wilkinson - Born August 18, 1955 in Belleville, Ontario, Steve’s interest in music started when he bought his first guitar at age 13. He grew up with the country music influences of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash.It wasn’t too long after that that Steve started to write songs and it was his guitar that taught him to sing, write and love country music. In the fall of 1997, Steve and his family moved to Nashville, Tennessee where Steve, Amanda and Tyler, known as The Wilkinsons, have enjoyed tremendous success since their debut album, Nothing For Love.
Amanda Wilkinson - Amanda Wilkinson was born January 17, 1982 in Belleville, Ontario and raised in Trenton, Ontario. Her passion for singing began early as she was always surrounded by music. The signature vocalist for The Wilkinsons, Amanda has recently ventured off on her own for the first time, releasing her self-titled debut album earlier this year.
Tyler Wilkinson - Born in the small town of Bellville, Ontario, brown-haired, blue-eyed Tyler was born into his musical family on April 30, 1984. He quickly learned to play the guitar, and more influenced by pop and rock music than the country music his dad brought home. In addition to all things musical, Tyler, a self-proclaimed family man (and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream fanatic) also enjoys basketball.
Chris Wilkinson - Though she’s often been mistaken for Faith Hill, Christine Wilkinson lives the other side of fame—the backstage side. Having her husband and two of her three children on the road a lot can be tough, but Chris is ever supportive and almost always patient. The Wilkinsons series is Chris’ first venture into the limelight, but certainly not her first insight into celebrity. She’s moved her life to Nashville for her family’s career, she’s come along on the road, and now she’s following her husband’s whim again – moving back to Ontario.
Kiaya Wilkinson - As the youngest Wilkinson, 16-year-old Kiaya’s spent the better part of her life in Nashville and considers it home. And while she does join her father, big brother and sister on the road from time to time, she has spent enough time in Nashville to make good friends there, so she’s more than a little hesitant to move back to her supposed “home” in Ontario. Also, in order to be flexible enough to be able to spend some time on the road with her family, Kiaya has been home-schooled up to this point, but a move back to Ontario means that Kiaya will have to go to a regular high school. Because they are together so much, Kiaya is very close with her mom, and like Chris, has stayed out of the limelight…until now.
